Syndai Secondary School is a very important school because it is the only Secondary school located in an area comprising of 6(six) villages having U.P. Schools. At present the school is having enrolment of 54 students. The computer room is constructed adjacent to the staff room in the main school building. The computer room is a blessing to the students of this village as they will be imparted computer knowledge and skills which will help them in future when they pursue higher studies. The 2006-07 building grant is sanctioned under SCA (BADP) Border Areas Development Department at an amount of Rs. 1.00 lakhs.

The Construction of CC footpath from Darrang Pdengshnong road to Kongwang village connects the villages of Kongwang and Darrang. The people of thse villages use this route daily not only to commute but also to go to their orchards. This footpath is especially helpful to the children of Kongwang village studying in the Secondary School at Darrang village also it will greatly benefit these villagers during monsoon which will prevent them from slipping and falling due to the steep terrain. The grant-in-aid is sanctioned under SCA (BADP) 2006-07 Border Areas Development Department at an amount of Rs. 0.50 lakhs.
Amwi-Thangbuli Secondary School is one of the oldest schools in War Jaintia having celebrated 25 (Twenty five) years of its existence and service to the people of this region. At present the school is having an enrolment of approximately 130 students. The computer-cum-practical room is constructed on the first floor of the existing building comprising of 2(Two) large rooms which are used for Computer education and Science practicals. Here the students are imparted with computer skills and Scientific knowledge to make them aware of the science and technology required when they pursue higher studies. The building grant is sanctioned under SCA (BADP) 2006-07 and 2007-08, Border Areas Development Department at a total amount of Rs. 2.00 lakhs.
The completion of courtyard of L.P. School at Amlanai village sanctioned under SCA (BADP) 2007-08 Border Areas Development Department for an amount of Rs. 1.00 lakhs is a boon to this school having a fairly large enrolment of approximately 120 students. The courtyard is concreted and barricaded towards the roadside to prevent the children from straying to the road. The courtyard is very big and can be accommodated for school prayer, pledge ceremony, school functions and as a playground.
The Community House for Amlariang Club at Nongtalang village is sanctioned under SCA(BADP) 2007-08, Border Areas Development Department at an of Rs. 1.90 lakhs is constructed on the first floor of the existing building. The Community House being centrally located serves as an ideal place for social gatherings, meetings and recreational centre for the people of the locality. Residents of the locality have rendered voluntary service in the construction of the building. The Community House is managed and maintained by the Club.
Syiem Jingsuk Secondary School situated in Amlarem village of Amlarem Sub-Division is a centre of excellence for education in the War Jaintia region after having achieved 100% pass percentage comprising of 1st and 2nd divisions only in the SSLC Examinations in the last three years. Not compromising on quality education and competition the school has witnessed a tremendous increase in the enrolment of the students from year to year. The extension of the school building was sanctioned under SCA(BADP) 2007-08 and 2008-09, Border Areas Development Department at a total amount of Rs. 4.00 lakhs. The 2nd floor comprises of 5 (five) classrooms and 1 (one) library which was constructed by donations from other sources. With the completion of this school building the school Managing Committee has been able to increase the capacity intake of students for the welfare of the people of War Jaintia.
Sedar Lyngdoh Modern L.P. School after the construction works of the school building comprises of 3(three) rooms. The benefits from this CGI concrete school building is that children will be protected from the heavy rainfall during monsoon and the heat of the sun during summer. The building grant is sanctioned under SCA(BADP) 2008-09, Border Areas Development at an amount of Rs. 2.50lakhs.
Major renovation works of Enowell Hall at Amlarem is of utmost importance because this is the biggest and only Community Hall at Amlarem village the junction and the Sub-Division of War Jaintia. The Hall being centrally located is utilized for various purposes not only by the village but also the NGO’s, Clubs, Government Departments etc. in War Jaintia. The construction of ceiling for arresting of echo, toilets, septic tanks, RCC flat canteen, star net fencing dustbins, water tanks, painting of roof, ceiling, walls, doors and windows. Replacement of all doors and wooden windows by window grills, electricity and water connection and minor repairs etc. has created the Community Hall an asset for the village and the entire sub-division. The grant is sanctioned under SCA (BADP) 2008-09, Border Areas Development Department at an amount of Rs. 6.50 lakhs.
Krangshuri Falls Tourist Spot is one of the upcoming tourist spots in War Jaintia. It is located at a distance of 27.5km away from the district HQ, Jowai and is situated on the outskirts of Amlarem. This place is famous for its beautiful waterfall, serene forests and the historical Marphalangki Stone-bridge. The construction of RCC view point, stony footpaths, retaining walls, RCC footbridge decorated with stone slabs, stone slab picnic spots, stone block drains, stone block water tank and filter at perennial water source and railings with G.I. pipes overlooking the falls and the path leading to pool. This project is sanctioned under SCA (BADP) 2008-09 Border Areas Development Department at an amount of Rs. 7.00 lakhs. The completion of these infrastructural components has greatly improved the tourist inflow as per inputs from the stakeholders of this Tourist Spot.
