Dongmihsngi is in Sunapur, a border village lying within 3km roughly distance from the International border with Bangladesh. Dongmihsngi received assistance for construction of footpath from Border Area Development under SCA (BADP) in the year 2006-07. The work was carried out by the village committee under the supervision of the Secretary, Sunapur village. Materials for execution were procured from Khliehriat which is 40km and where the headquarter of Khliehriat border block is located. The work commenced in October 2007 and completed in January 2008. The length of the footpath is 32m which extends from NH-44 downstream. Its width is 1.5m. Sunapur is also a halting place of tourist buses and cabs and other private vehicles for lunch, refreshment etc. The footpath has eased the people of Dongmihsngi to reach the above said station which earlier they had to use small boulders and stones.

This footpath was constructed under SCA (BADP) during the year 2006-07. It is a footpath which connects the main PWD road and Ghat at Kwator, a village which falls within 3km roughly distance from the International border line. Kwator which falls under Khliehriat border block is situated in the border with Amlarem Sub-division and there is a river Myntdu near Kwator which divides Khliehriat sub-division and Amlarem sub-division. The people of Kwator village use boats to cross the river in order to reach Amlarem or any other village under Amlarem sub-division and this is the fast and shortest route. These boats are stationed at this Ghat. The people of Kwator make use of this footpath every time when they want to travel by boat. The length of this footpath is 30m and it has been of immense help to the villagers of Kwator and neighbouring villages.

This footpath connects PWD main road and L.P. School at Kwator, a village falling within 3km roughly distance from the international border line. This L.P. school provides educational needs to 60 students with the help of 1 teacher. Prior to the implementation of this scheme, students and teachers used to walk on earthy footpath which they faced difficulty especially during rainy seasons when the path became slippery. The work was started in September, 2007 and completed in December, 2007. The village committee handled the work which employed local villagers as laboureRs. The length of the path is 30m and breadth 1.5m. Materials of work were procured from Lad Rymbai which is 51km away from this village.

This scheme is located at Umkiang, a border village within 1km roughly distance from the zero line. The people here travel a 1km earthy and stony footpath from ladshaplong to the cultivation field near the line of demarcation of India and Bangladesh daily. Construction of footpath here was created under BADP during the year 2006-07 amounting to Rs. 0.50lakhs. The work was carried out by the village committee. It was started in September 2007 and completed in December 2007 with the sanctioned amount i.e. Rs. 0.50lakhs the villagers were able to complete 30m c.c. footpath. The material and tools were procured from Kalain in Assam. The amount was too insufficient to reach upto the field. The village committee was seeking assistance from other sources for extension of this c.c. footpath.

Umkiang is the largest border village falling under Khliehriat border block. It is located along NH-44 and is within 1km roughly distance from the international border line. It covers around 10 hamlets and Umkiang East is one of them. Rupees Fifty thousand was earmarked under SCA (BADP) during the year 2006-07 for extension of existing footpath which was funded by C&RD. This footpath (C&RD) extends from the main road upto 70m. Extension of the footpath was carried out by Border Area Development through the village committee in order to reach deeper into the hamlet. The length of this extension is 30m and has been very much helpful to the people of Umkiang East who prior to the execution used stones and small boulders.

Lama village is situated at a distance of 40km from the headquarter of Khliehriat border block and falls within 6km roughly distance from the international border with Bangladesh. It has 62 numbers of households with a population of approximately 400. An amount of Rs. 0.50lakhs had been sanctioned under SCA (BADP) during the year 2006-07 for construction of footpath in this village. The work was started in October 2007 and completed in January 2008 by the village committee under the supervision of Border Area Development Department. The length of the footpath is 30m and breadth 1.5m. The footpath has been very useful to the people of the people of the village which was muddy and soily prior to implementation of this scheme. Materials and tools for this project/work was procured from Ladrymbai which km away from this village.

Wahiajer under Narpuh Elaka is a village falling within 9kms roughly distance from the international border with Bangladesh. It is situated along NH-44 and is 25km from the headquarter of Khliehriat border block. It has a population of approximately 300. The only playground that the village was improved through BADP during the year 2008-09. The amount sanctioned was utilized for earth clearing and expansion which was done with the help of earth mover machine. Together with financial contribution of the village committee a retaining wall of 25m in length and 4m in height was also done. The total area of the ground is 160sqm and presently the ground is very much playable.

Location :- Lumtongseng
Amount sanctioned :- Rs. 1.75 lakhs

Lumtongseng is a border village, situated 1km from NH-44 and falls within 3km roughly distance from international border line. It has a population of 165(approx). An amount of Rs. 1.00lakhs was sanctioned lender SCA (BADP) during the year 2005-06. The amount was insufficient, therefore an additional amount of Rs. 0.75lakhs was again sanctioned under SCA (BADP) during the year 2007-08 for completion. The work was carried out by the village committee and completed in December 2008. The hall has an area of 48m2 with a veranda of area 5sqm. The hall is presently utilized for conducting meetings of village committee and village durbar and other social activities.

Umkiang is the largest border village falling under Khliehriat border block and is within 1km roughly from the international border with Bangladesh. It is 60km away from the headquarter of Khliehriat border block and has a population of 2000(approx). There is TWICE A week market at Par Umkiang every Wednesday and Saturday. The market is a big one as it draws dealers and customers from around 20 villages and it is situated along NH-44. This place is also a stopping place for tourist buses and cabs. For cleanliness of the market, an amount of Rs. 1.00lakh was sanction under SCA (BADP) during 2007-08. The work was carried out by the village committee in April, 2008 and completed in October, 2008. The area of the dumping bin is 7.5sqm. All refuse and rubbish from the market are dumped here to maintain cleanliness. A gate is also attached to enable to remove and transport the waste when the dumping bin is full. A dumping bin of the same kind of area 4.5sqm was constructed at Dukan area from the above mentioned amount.

Initially this was a small playground at Apha, a village falling within 1km roughly distance from the international border with Bangladesh. The village has no playground other than this. A need was felt to expand this playground to provide playfield for the youth of the village. An amount of Rs. 0.50lakhs was sanctioned under SCA (BADP) during the year 2007-08 through Border Area Development Department. The work was carried out by a Social Sports Club of Apha village in May 2008 and the work was completed in October 2008. The work involved earth clearing and filling which was done with the help of earth moving machine. Together with public financial contribution the ground condition has been improved and area enlarged and developed into a mini playground.

Ladlakadong is a new village lying in a border area which has come up in course of time. It is about 36km from the headquarter of Khliehriat border block and falls within 7km roughly distance from the international border with Bangladesh. Its population is approximately 200. It has only 1 L.P. School to cater the educational needs of the children of the village which is being run by a missionary body0. It has 2 teachers and 41 students. It has a compound of about 400m2. Fencing of this compound was taken up by Border Area Development Department under SCA (BADP) in the year 2006-07. The work was carried out by the school committee in September 2007 and completed in December 2007. The height of the fence is 1.8m and total length is 80m including a gate for entrance. This fencing has been of immense help as it acts a preventive wall from animals.

Wahkhian is a part of Umkiang, a border village located within 1km roughly distance from the international border line. The number of houses in this part of Umkiang is about 60. This footpath is very important for the people of Wahkhian as it connects this hamlet and NH-44 on the eastern part. For people living on the eastern part, this is the only route to NH-44. The length and breadth of this footpath is 30m and 1.5m respectively. The footpath has really eased the people walking especially during monsoon seasons. An extension of this footpath has been approved during the year 2009-10 in order to reach deeper into the hamlet.
Name of the Scheme :- Completion of construction of approach road to Nein Shnong
Location :- Bataw

Bataw is a border village located within 8km roughly distance from the international border with Bangladesh and 30km away from the headquarter of Khliehriat border block. Northern part of Bataw is called Nein Shnong and southern part is called Rum Shnong. The total number of houses in Bataw is 350 and a population is approximately 1500. There is an approach road from PWD road upto Community Hall at Nein Shnong, the condition of which was not good. The Border Area Development Office, Khliehriat proposed a sanction of Rs. 1.00lakh under SCA(BADP) for improvement of this approach road which was accorded in the year 2007-08. The amount was released to the village committee and a wall of 100m was constructed along one side of the road to prevent earth sliding. The height of the wall is 2m. The actual length of the road from PWD road to a Community Hall at Neinshnong is 180m. The construction of this wall has prevented the earth from the courtyards of the houses situated along the right side of the road from being eroded.

Shymplong is a village lying near the zero line of demarcation of India and Bangladesh lying on slope of a hill. IT has a population of about 350 and 50 nos. of households. The village is inaccessible by road and to go deeper into the village one has to travel by foot either from NH-44 or from Sonapur-Huroi road. Therefore, construction of network OF footpaths is very much important. The village received assistance from Border Area Development under SCA (BADP) for construction of footpath during the year 2006-2007. The work was undertaken by the village committee under the supervision of the Local Headman. The total length of the footpath is 30m.
